A research community, not a mailing list
Most researchers in Bangladesh working outside a well-resourced department have no one to ask about a sampling decision, no affordable route to a statistician, and no community holding them to a standard. Membership is our answer to that. It is deliberately inexpensive, and it is deliberately not a route to authorship.
Membership does not buy authorship, publication or a thesis.

Four steps
Apply
Read the members’ research pledge, complete the application below and choose a password — it becomes your member account once we approve you. Tell us which type you are applying for, your qualifications and what you are working on.
Review
We check that the type fits — we will move you to a different type rather than decline you, if that is the right answer. Fellow applications go to a review panel.
Confirm and pay
We send confirmation, an invoice and the membership terms. Membership runs for twelve months from the date it is confirmed.
Get started
Sign in to your Member Hub, complete your profile and start using your membership. Your permanent Membership ID is on your Hub; your certificate arrives by email.
The members' research pledge
Membership means holding yourself to a standard. Every member agrees to five things when they apply.
- Report honestly. No fabrication, falsification or selective reporting of data or results.
- Protect people. Seek informed consent and ethical approval before collecting data from people, and keep what they share confidential.
- Credit by contribution. Authorship follows ICMJE criteria — never payment, position or membership.
- Declare interests. Disclose any conflict of interest in work you do with or through The Ideology.
- Treat people with respect. Colleagues, participants and communities, in line with our ethics and research integrity standards.
A serious breach can lead to suspension or the end of membership, after a fair review in which you are heard.

Before you apply
Does membership give me co-authorship on anything?
No. Authorship is earned through contribution under ICMJE criteria and is never a membership benefit, a purchase or a negotiation. If that is what you are looking for, membership is not it — and neither is anything else we sell.
Will a member get their thesis written or edited?
We will not write it. We will help you design the study properly, analyse the data correctly, and edit your own writing so that it communicates clearly — the same boundary that applies to every client.
Can an institution buy membership for its students?
Yes. Institutional arrangements are handled under an MoU rather than through this page, because they usually include training and methodological clinics as well. Discuss an institutional collaboration.
Can I join from outside Bangladesh?
Yes. Clinics and consultations run online, and the resource library is open to all members. Some in-person events will only be practical if you are in Dhaka.
What happens at the end of twelve months?
We write to you thirty days before your membership ends. After it ends you have a further thirty days to renew with full access. After that it lapses: your profile, record and certificates stay, and your Membership ID stays yours if you return. There is no automatic renewal and no stored payment instrument.
If my application is not approved, can I apply again?
Yes, after six months. We always explain our reason, and where a different membership type fits you, we offer that instead of declining.
