Field and data-collection capacity
We are going to be straightforward about this, because it is the section institutional buyers read most carefully and the one most often overstated.
We do not maintain a permanent in-house enumerator team. Data collection runs through vetted field partners with nationwide coverage in Bangladesh, and we supervise fieldwork directly rather than subcontracting responsibility for it.
For each study we train the enumerators on that instrument, on consent procedures and on ethical conduct; we pilot before full fieldwork; and we run back-checks and spot re-interviews at a rate agreed in the protocol. Data is collected electronically through KoboToolbox or ODK with validation, skip logic and GPS and timestamp capture, and quality checks run daily during collection rather than after it.
An invented field team is discovered on the first project. This is what we actually have, and it is enough to run a defensible study.
Contracting and procurement
Contracted services are delivered by Ideology Limited, a company registered in Bangladesh (RJSC No. C-213391/2026, incorporated 24 August 2026).
Grant-funded and public-interest research is undertaken by The Ideology Foundation, our registered non-profit.

Frequently asked
Can you respond to a ToR on a short timeline?
Usually, yes. Send it to us and we will tell you honestly whether the timeline allows a design that will answer the question. If it does not, we will say so — that is more useful to you than a proposal that cannot deliver.
Do you conduct fieldwork outside Dhaka?
Yes. We work through vetted field partners with nationwide coverage in Bangladesh, and we supervise the fieldwork ourselves. Tell us the districts involved and we will confirm coverage and what it implies for timeline and cost.
Can you work in Bangla?
Yes. Instruments, fieldwork, transcripts and community-facing outputs are produced in Bangla where the study requires it, with documented translation and back-translation. Technical reports are produced in English, Bangla, or both.
Do you handle ethical approval?
We prepare and submit the protocol for ethical review as part of the engagement. We do not yet operate our own review board, so submission is to the relevant government, institutional or organizational ethics committee — in practice, your institution's committee, the commissioning body's, or the BMRC where the study falls within its remit.
Who owns the data and the findings?
This is agreed in the contract. By default, the commissioning organization owns the data and the report. We ask for permission — never assume it — to reference the work in our portfolio or to use anonymised data in subsequent research.
Can you present findings to our board or donor?
Yes. Dissemination — presentations, workshops, briefs — can be included in the scope, and we would encourage it. A finding that is never presented to the people who commissioned it has not finished doing its job.
Every study is submitted for ethical review before data collection begins.
